Walked thru these "families" of sequoias in Muir woods today. These 2000 yr old trees grow in circular groups like pitcher plants. Wandering in these woods in mysterious and inspiring.
Charles Duvall first worked with fabric structures in 1984 at the Bill Moss Studio in Portland, Maine as a designer and developer of camping tents and fabric housing. Inspired by flowers, leaves, branches and other lightweight yet resilient natural structures, many of Duvall's original tent designs became popular in the U.S., Europe and especially Japan, where they were recognized for their simple beauty, elegant structure and sturdy performance.
Over the past 15 years, Duvall has evolved into a highly focused artistic shop, working in fabric and frame as the primary medium but looking at the finished result as something more than that – as a truly dynamic space.
